On the morning of Friday, October 25, the 84-year-old bassist passed away "peacefully," according to a statement shared on his verified Instagram account. Later that day, his remaining Grateful Dead bandmates, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, and Bob Weir, shared a touching Instagram post praising their late friend's musical abilities and impact on them. “Today we lost a brother. Our hearts and love go out to Jill Lesh, Brian and Grahame. Phil Lesh was irreplaceable.”
