Link to Makezine https://makezine.com/projects/origami-kayak/I designed Gen 14 for the Make Magazine. The design is based on my Gen 12 kayak, however, all the components should be readily available in the local (in US) stores such as Lowes and Home Depot. The design uses 3-3.5 sheet 4' x 8' 4 mm thick coroplast. Two proto-types were built to validate the design. The kayak plan published in Make Magazine is 12' long. The kayak plan which you can download from www.DIYUSA.org is 10' long. The design can be easily modified to more than 14' long to accommodate two people. If you take care of this kayak like an inflatable kayak, I expect this kayak can last for a few summers. The proto-type used a modified fusion method from Nathaniel. Which is much easier to do than my earlier method. It took him approx. two days to build one.
