Japan Episode 1 [The Electronic Tribe]

Part 1 of a PBS documentary narrated by Jane Seymour from 1987.

This episode explores the religions the Japanese people value, and how as a people they adapt in their environment, culturally, and industrially, making them an economic powerhouse in the 1980's.

I viewed this recently to see how the observations made back then hold up to today. Needless to say, we've got a lot more to worry about from China than Japan now. The series doesn't go as deep into Japanese culture as I thought it did back then, but treats the Japanese in more of an Anthropological study. IMO too hands off, and not enough interviews with the Japanese.
