WTF Happened to Natural Born Killers?

Movies don’t get more controversial than Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers. A pitch-black satire of the tabloid media’s fascination with tawdry crime in the nineties, the movie remains relevant close to thirty years later. When it came out in 1994, Stone’s movie, which told the story of serial-killing lovers Mickey (Woody Harrelson) and Mallory (Juliette Lewis) was attacked by the same media it vilified. Many wondered how the film, even in its edited form, managed to get an NC-17 rating, and the film’s writer, Quentin Tarantino, distanced himself from the movie, claiming Stone completely changed his script and that the finished film had very little in common with what he wrote. In this episode of WTF Happened to this Movie, which is written by Jake Dee, edited by Diane Baldwin, and narrated by Dave Davis, we dig into the cult-classic, which remains one of the most notorious movies ever released by a mainstream studio.
