This Place Survived The Great Depression. Can It Survive Modern LA?

There's a reason the Original Farmers Market has been a beloved part of LA since 1934. It’s a place built on hustle that has stood the test of time, and you can feel that history in every corner. Stopping by Magee’s Kitchen, which has been here since 1917, I was reminded that what makes LA special are the people who show up every day to keep these institutions going. But we're making it too hard for them, with long commutes and a cost of living that pushes them out of their own communities. As Mayor, I’ll focus on fixing that, making it easier to build, work, and live so the soul of our city can thrive for another hundred years.
