Information Technology at Connecticut's Technical High Schools; Kaynor Tech High School

Students deciding to enter the field of Information Technology are introduced to basic concepts of computer hardware and software. Basic computer programming, school-to-work and job readiness skills are also introduced. Students have several opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials and college credit in partnership with local colleges. Following general study in IT, students select a pathway from among 6 options and develop an individual learning plan in cooperation with their teacher. As students work independently toward employment or higher education in their area of focus, they prepare for and take certification exams related to their pathway. IT pathways include:
