Smiths of Scotter operate a fleet of heavy goods vehicles which range far and wide throughout Great Britain and Europe, contributing to the transport links which are a vital part of the European economy.
In charge of one of Smiths' 38 tonne Seddon Atkinson articulated lorries, Steve Heward is no stranger to cross Channel ferries, the Eurostar train and driving on the right hand side of the road.
This video follows Steve as he delivers a load of stainless steel plates to a factory in Italy, and collects a return load of marble for a customer in England.
Portraying life in a sleeper cab, 'camion stew' and the frustrations of the inevitable paperwork, the video also captures the camaraderie between fellow drivers in a foreign land.
