The Children's Bible Message- Jesus is the true vine - John 15:1-8

We have been learning together about the seven I AM statements Jesus made, recorded in the book of John.
Each time Jesus says “I AM,” he is saying that he is God. Each I AM statement tells us a little more about who Jesus is.

Today’s message is the last of the I Am saying of Jesus.

Summary:
We have learned that he is the Bread of Life, and fills up all our spiritual needs.

That Jesus is the resurrection and the life, and that he has all power over life and death.

We also learned that he is the Light of the World, and he lights up our spiritual darkness.

We learned that Jesus is the gate, the only entrance to heaven.
That he is the Good Shepherd who sacrificed his life for our lives.
Last week we learned that Jesus is the way to God, he is the only truth, and he gives us eternal life if we will love him and follow him!

Scripture:
John 15:1-8

Jesus is saying in our verses today – if we love him, we should see fruits of the Spirit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

We remain in Jesus, the true vine, by following him and obeying his commands and that shows Jesus we love him.

Jesus says that when you produce much fruit, you are his true disciples and this brings great glory to God the Father.

Conclusion:
I want you to trust and love Jesus and grow and bear much fruit!

I Am the True Vine

15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
