One week since she underwent surgery to repair a tear in her retina, Savannah Guthrie phones TODAY with an update on her progress, saying “Everything’s on track.” She adds that the hardest thing has been sitting still, but “it’s all going to turn out OK.” In Studio 1A, her ophthalmologist, Dr. Donald D’Amico, explains that “she has a bubble in her eye,” but adds that he’s optimistic that her vision will return.
