Mthunzi Mvubu in concert @ House on the Hill

Season 2 (Episode 8) of our South African Jazz Showcase series kicks off with a brand new project from one of our favourite Mzansi alto players, Mthunzi Mvubu. The band also features Sphelelo Mazibuko on drums, Neil Engel on trumpet and Dalisu Ndlazi on bass. Melody and groove are given plenty of space here, and without any chordal instruments, the soloists are truly free to explore and stretch out. this group is edgy yet melodic - and makes for really compelling listening/viewing.
