Extracting depth maps from the iPhone.

Many of the new smart phones can capture depth data. This is typical used to simulate shallow depth of field. There are other applications for these depth maps but it is not obvious how to extract them. I learned that the Photopea Online Photo Editor makes it very easy to access the depth maps. They open as an additional image layer.
