A Testers Techno Future Assessing IoT Systems Of Systems - Jon Hagar at PNSQC 2022
IoT is the growing hype side of the Technological Hype Curve. There will be many IoT test jobs, but skills will be needed? This paper considers the key disciplines of technology usage by skilled testers, software test architectures, and systems testing. It considers several important IoT system-level test activities and people skills to support the world of IoT testing. Testing beyond an individual IoT device is needed because many issues and faults will only be detected at the integrated system level of testing. IoT testers need to think about the impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, software test architectures (STA), and classic testing in their future tasks. The experience of testing embedded software works to be successful in the IoT system testing efforts.
