Cradle | Oscar-Winning Student Animation Film by Devon Manney

Returning to the USA after losing both arms overseas, a young veteran battles phantom pains, prosthetics, and memories of his pre-war life while reaching for a sense of normalcy.

A Student Academy Award winner, and Oscar Shortlisted animation, Manney's USC thesis film eschews hi-concepts or manipulative heartstring-tugging to instead tell a thoughtful, sharply observed story of a wounded warrior and the transition he, and his young family go through.
