After being rescued and rehabilitated on a wildlife officer camp for a while, this elephant has grown much confidence and friendship with humans and is now able to interact peacefully. The calmness shows how comfortable this elephant is at the time of this recording. This babe elephant is now given a chance to roam a little distance away from the camp towards the friendlier woods that is protected by boundaries. These kind of situations are common to the wildlife department of the island of Sri Lanka as they have to deal with several thousands of elephants that freely roam across conserved areas and also often passing through villages and towns. They will reintroduce this baby elephant to a new herd or an orphanage where this baby elephant will grow a little before it can join a new herd.
