Intro Oud Lesson with Demetrios Petsalakis

Demetrios Petsalakis of the New Canadian Global Music Orchestra gives us an introductory oud lesson. A popular instrument in Greece, Dmitri shows us how to play the oud, some patterns and techniques to get started, and how to start improvising.

Born in Athens, Demetrios has taken on the oud, guitar, lyra, riq, bouzouki and Greek baglama. He has a taste for many varieties of music: from the Ottoman-era folk to Greek music from the '20s and '30s.
