Iran's Most Advanced Missile Is 1980s American Tech

Iran's Fattah-2 was unveiled in November 2023 as a "hypersonic glide vehicle"
flying at Mach 15. The reality? It's a maneuvering reentry vehicle — the same
concept the U.S. Army deployed on the Pershing-II in 1983 and destroyed under
the INF Treaty by 1991.

But there IS one genuine innovation: a small liquid-fuel rocket bolted to the
warhead bus, letting it steer mid-flight where most ballistic missiles can't.
Clever engineering. Just not hypersonic, and not new.
