On the first day Franklin met Jala, he asked her to go on a date. Since it was the end of their work day when he asked her out, she told him they could see each other right now however he wasn’t available right away because he wanted to watch the presentation. So, instead of giving her number, she set an alarm on his phone to remind him to meet her tonight at this particular restaurant. She suggested this restaurant specifically because it was a safe place for her to vet male suitors. On their first date, she found out he writes articles, aspires to be an investigative journalist and the reason why he worked there showed he has tenacity and what he wants out of life while he found out she was an aspiring artist. After few months of dating, he proposed and she said yes. By being in a relationship with her, she helped him think through his strategies to expose the company he is writing about while creating a life and a home filled with love. By being in a relationship with him, she has someone who values what she finds important and because he gifted her painting supplies she was able to focus on her art which led her to have her first art exhibit.
