Welcome back to This is Kurdistan, and what a surreal episode this is. For the very first time, I travelled to Akre to experience Newroz, the Kurdish New Year, on March 20th, 2025—and it was absolutely unforgettable.

This vlog captures my journey from London to Slemani, and then straight to the heart of Newroz —Akrê—on its biggest day of the year. As a proud Kurd and advocate for Kurdistan, being in Akre during Newroz was one of the most emotional and joyful experiences of my life.

From being shown love by so many incredible people, to carrying the legendary fire stick up the mountain in honour of our traditions—it was wild, overwhelming, beautiful. This vlog is a mix of chaos, tradition, culture, love, and Kurdish pride. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s deeply personal. Experience Newroz in Akre through my eyes.

This is more than just a travel vlog. This is our journey together, this is our story.
