TRIP REPORT | ALITALIA | EMBRAER ERJ 190 | Milano Linate to Rome Fiumicino | Economy Light|

Hi Guys!
This time I will fly from LIN to FCO with Alitalia
Till the high-speed trains started to link the Italian two main cities in three hours this was the busiest domestic route in Italy and among the busiest in the entire European Union.
Alitalia offered a "shuttle service". There were up to 30 flights per day ( one every 15 mins in rush hours). In the '80s and early '90s, 310 seats Airbus A300B4 were even used in this route.
Those time are over now and most of the people travel from Milan to Rome by train, so Alitalia reduced frequencies but overall capacity. At present the most of flights are operated by A319 and Embraer ERJ 175 and 190. That means a number of seats per flight ranging from 138 to 88.
For example flight AZ 2055 today will be operated by a 100 seats ERJ190.
Alitalia always was the only carrier operating FCO-LIN-FCO except for a short period in which Easyjet flew.
In this video you will find a quick glimpse at LIN departures, then you can follow boarding procedure and taxiing in the time-lapse version.
After a few holding time you will watch takeoff from runway 36, then we'll fly at FL350 and I will do a quick review of cabin and seat layout, in-flight magazine and service.
As always what I write reflects my personal opinions so you couldn't agree with my impressions.
Weather conditions in Central Italy and in Rome were rather stormy with heavy wind, thunderstorm clouds, rain and turbulence. So you will enjoy a rough and bumpy approach/landing to FCO runway 34R.
