FEBRUARY 7, 2023: On Monday, February 6, 2023, Courtney Greaves, the 11-year-old head girl of Jessie Ripoll Primary School, created history as the youngest awardee to date in the Global Poetry Foundation Competition and for being the first to win seven awards in a given year. Her victories also automatically made Jessie Ripoll Primary win the Most Outstanding Institution award.
"I feel elated to know that I am representing my country, Jamaica, as the youngest finalist and winner of the competition,” the 11-year-old told The Gleaner.
