Less Lethal launcher - when to use it??

Launchers are nice to have but when you rule out lethal threats and benign threats what do you have left? Not having a plan is planning to fail. Self defense is an odds game because you have to make a calculated risk on either the violence side or the legal side. It's not possible to know exactly what will come your way on a given day but you've got to have a plan. There are many types of lethal weapons that you could encounter. How will you deal with them? Do you treat some differently than others? When exactly will you use Less Lethal force and if so how many Joules do you need for a specific situation? It all has to be decided in seconds.
