BACKGROUND
This video is about my credit card application journey for the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card, issued by Barclays.

The welcome bonus was 90,000 Wyndham Rewards points in 2 tiers:
- Tier 1: Earn 60,000 points after spending $1K in the first 90 days
- Tier 2: Earn an additional 30,000 points after spending a total of $2K in the first 6 months

Overall, it was quite a long journey, though ultimately, I received an approval :D

(1a) MY CREDIT REPORT BEFORE APPLYING

(1b) MY CREDIT REPORT AFTER APPLYING
- TransUnion credit score dropped from 810 to 805 (5 point decrease)
- TransUnion inquiry count went from 4 to 5 (1 point increase)
- All other credit factors remained the same

(2) RESULT + TIMELINE
- Applied on September 18, 2021
- Approved on October 13, 2021
- Received on October 22, 2021
- All in that was 34 days!
- I received an approval for a $1,000 credit limit

So in the end, if you get denied for a credit card, it can still be worth a call to the reconsideration team to see if the decision can be reversed :]

And no, not all Barclays credit card applications are this difficult :D Back in 2018 I got the AAdvantage Aviator Business Mastercard with an instant approval online. Same held true for the AAdvantage Aviator Red Mastercard (personal credit card) that I opened in 2017, it was an instant online approval (this card account is still open as I publish this video, though I've downgraded it to the regular AAdvantage Aviator card with no annual fee).

My best guess as to why this credit application gave me so much difficulty is because I recently moved, and a new address on your credit report can raise flags for further identity verification.
