📘 Octal Number System (Base 8)
The octal number system is a positional number system that uses 8 digits to represent numbers.
🔹 Digits Used:
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
👉 Only these digits are allowed (no 8 or 9)
🔹 Base:
Octal is a base-8 system, meaning each position represents a power of 8.
🔹 Example:
(157)₈ = 1 × 8² + 5 × 8¹ + 7 × 8⁰
= 64 + 40 + 7 = 111 (Decimal)

📘 Hexadecimal Number System (Base 16)
The hexadecimal number system is a positional number system that uses 16 symbols to represent values. It is widely used in computing because it provides a compact way to represent binary data.
🔹 Digits Used:
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F
👉 Where:
A = 10
B = 11
C = 12
D = 13
E = 14
F = 15
🔹 Base:
Hexadecimal is a base-16 system, meaning each position represents a power of 16.
🔹 Example:
(3A)₁₆ = 3 × 16¹ + 10 × 16⁰
= 48 + 10 = 58 (Decimal)
