3 phase SiC Tesla Coil.

This is a unique machine utilizing SiC MOSFETs and a frequency modulation power control scheme with a "de-tuned" primary to offer power boost under capacitive "streamer loading" conditions. In this video I'm checking if recent insulation upgrades will function, and so far it seems to hold disaster at bay. Input power is 55A RMS, 240VAC, boosted to 800V maximum. Each primary has a half-bridge of C3M0021120K power fets and switches from 550khz to 350khz. The primary current is typically 50-100A peak, but the short power arcing between toroids limits the current build up to 30A or so. Coils are driven with 120* phase locked voltages, however interesting interactions can cause funny phase and power oscillations between the 3 coils. Typically the power is not perfectly balanced on all 3 phases, and the phase with maximum or minimum power seems to be randomly distributed. As the phases are locked, the driving frequency is a compromise to maintain soft switching on all 3 phases under any load. Consequently, the performance of a single machine is typically better than when coordinating all 3.
