Remember AirBike? This clever aircraft is the airplane you get "on" rather than "in," a great metaphor for an aerial motorcycle. AirBike, from TEAM Aircraft emerged in the early 1990s. Mike Jefferson of northern California found one, returned it to flying condition, and flew it to Copperstate 2020 in Buckeye, Arizona (50 m. W of Phoenix). That mean Mike flew his AirBike 900 miles averaging a shade over 50 mph. It may take a bit more patience to go cross country at that speed, but the view had to be unparalleled. (TRT: 2:44)
