Why We're Building Our Own Project Management Software

We're building custom project management software for AH Fencing. Not because we need more features, but because we need one system that works exactly how we work.

Right now we're running multiple platforms. Multiple logins. Multiple training processes. It's inefficient and it doesn't scale.

The plan has three parts:

1. Bring everything into one system so we're not training people across multiple platforms.

2. Customize it to match our exact workflows instead of bending our business to fit someone else's software.

3. Structure our data so AI can use it effectively. So project managers can text Claude from site and say send a purchase order and it happens in real time.

Most businesses won't do this because it's expensive and feels insane. But if you're serious about scale, at some point you have to stop duct-taping software together.

You either build what you need or you stay stuck working around limitations.
