'No legitimate reason': Health experts back Berejiklian on calls to reopen borders
Health experts have backed New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian's claims there is no legitimate health reason for state borders to remain closed across the country.
Pressure has continued to mount on Queensland and Western Australia for borders to reopen with concerns the issue has become "too politically motivated".
Pandemic researchers said calls to reopen borders under the rule of "no transmission for 28 days" is "not sustainable".
Meanwhile, the Palaszczuk government's quarantine laws were again labelled "inhumane" as a grieving daughter was forced to organise her parents' funeral from a hotel room after they were killed in a head-on crash.
Newcastle resident Linda Smith said she was denied a border exemption without a justifiable explanation.
