I Messed Up The Run (Bump Box Mistake) And We Ran Out Of Gas TWICE, But Leading Midwest Drag Week!

The Sick Seconds Camaro was all good - it was just the driver that needed work!
We had to make three runs on day one of the Midwest Drags, even though the regulations only require two passes. First run was good, then the second run was a mess when I thought the bump box was the transbrake! Lucky we were able to recover though and we are leading Midwest Drags after day one. Derek from Vice Grip Garage liked what he saw!
We then had to drive 240 miles to our next location, via the checkpoint. On Midwest Drags you can choose your own route and the way we went didn't have many gas stations haha.
Then it was only six miles to the hotel and we had all sorts of wrongness happening - Steve explains it in the video.
That's what this Drag Week style racing is all about - little mistakes can have bigger consequences down the line.
It has been good to see plenty of other guys running well. Cleetus McFarland ran some 7.6s in the Mullet El Camino and our buddy Jason Sack smashed some 7.4s in the Cowboy Up Nova.
