THE GUIDE (AS BEST AS I CAN FIT HERE)
Step 1:
Remove bracelet using spring bar removal tool.
Step 2:
Use case back removal tool to unscrew case back. Use plastic to protect watch as you unscrew.
Step 3:
Use tweezers to place seal aside by the removed case back.
Step 4:
Remove crown by unscrewing first, then use pin at specified point to press and release the crown. Pull crown to remove. Place with other removed components.
Step 5:
Remove movement holder ring. Gently hold movement in place by pressing in the middle of the rotor with something that won’t scratch the watch. Then use small screwdriver to lever out the movement holder. Once loosened enough, remove with tweezers.
Step 5:
Place watch cushion on back of watch, then flip over. Put case aside ready for cyclops removal.
Step 6:
Cyclops removal. Use a jet lighter (concentrated blue flame) to apply heat very specifically to the cyclops. When heated enough, cyclops pops loose. Let everything cool, then clean the crystal. I use Polywatch and a soft cloth as it’s in the kit.
Step 7:
Put crown back into the watch, carefully handle the movement at the edges wearing finger cots. Rotate the crown/stem as you insert it to ensure you are not forcing it in. Set the hands to 12 o clock. Place movement into the movement holder.
Step 8:
Keep crown in time set position to allow hands to stay in their position. Now place dial protector under the hands. Then use levers to gently prize hands off. Consistent leverage is crucial! Once popped off, carefully place hands aside.
Step 9:
Use small screwdriver to gently prize dial off the movement. Place movement into the movement holder.
Step 10:
Prepare new dial. If correct size etc, push fit or stick with dial dots onto the movement.
Step 11:
Use Rodico and carbon tweezers to gently place new hands in the 12 o clock position. Use hand presser tools to carefully push the hands into place one at a time. Push gently and square to the dial for consistent pushing application. Repeat process for other hands. THIS IS TRICKY, SO TAKE YOUR TIME! Check that all the hands clear each other. If not, check hands are seated properly, or very very gently use carbon tweezers to tweak the hands upward or downwards to bend them ever so slightly.
Step 12:
Remove crown carefully (see video how again) This is also very fiddly.
Step 13:
Place movement on the movement/watch cushion, then puff with the air puffer to remove any small particles. Do the same inside the watch case. Now place the case over the movement. Flip watch over carefully.
Step 14:
Align movement carefully in the case using your tweezers then gently place crown loosely (not pushed in) into the correct position in the movement (the 3 o clock position) Do not use the crown/stem to align the movement, it could bend the stem. This is put very loosely into place to get the movement aligned perfectly. Then reinsert the movement holder to lock everything into place.
Step 15:
Fully insert the crown/stem. Check engagement and function.
Step 16:
Put seal back in correctly, then screw case back back on, puff again before putting back on. Don’t over tighten, not meant to be as tight as you can do it as this could crush/distort the gasket/seal.
Step 17:
Put strap of choice on the watch. Give a final clean and wipe over.
