Inside 'Endgame' Royal Book Scandal BOMBSHELL
Buckingham Palace is keeping silent – so far – about an explosive royal scandal. Author Omid Scobie's new book "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight For Survival" reportedly discusses multiple hot-button topics, including the bombshell allegations made during Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's 2021 sit-down with Oprah Winfrey during which the couple claimed that at least one member of the family had previously raised concerns about the potential skin color of their then-unborn son, Archie. Meghan and Harry had declined to specify which royals made the alleged remarks, but now the controversy is making headlines once again after new claims that the Dutch version of "Endgame" has been pulled from shelves after naming not one but two senior royals as having allegedly taken part in the conversation. Multiple outlets including the BBC and The New York Times have reported that King Charles and the Princess of Wales were specifically mentioned in the book's Dutch translation. Access Hollywood has reached out to the palace, Harry and Meghan, and "Endgame" publishers for comment. Though the palace has not officially commented as of Dec. 1, a royal source tells Access that “all options” are being considered regarding a response to the situation. "Endgame’s" Dutch publisher Xander Uitgevers told NBC News in an earlier statement that an "error occurred in the Dutch translation and is currently being rectified," and Scobie has maintained that he never included specific names in his manuscript. Meanwhile, the "Today" show reported that the Dutch translator claims the names were present "in black and white." NBC News has neither obtained a copy of the Dutch version of "Endgame" nor independently verified that the alleged race discussion ever took place. Following Meghan and Harry's Oprah interview, Queen Elizabeth spoke out on behalf of the palace. "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members," the statement read in part.
