SPLIT-B | GT3 Round 4 | Road America | Evolution Sim Racing Season 8 Championship
Tonight marks Round 4 for Season 8 of the Evolution Sim Racing (ESR) GT3 Championship as brought to you on iRacing with this broadcast focused on Split B!
This week our drivers return to the USA for a triple-header which begins at Road America. Located in the picturesque countryside of the state of Wisconsin, the course’s 4.04 mile configuration has remained the same ever since its opening in 1955. Defined by its extensive straights which connect together its tight corner sequences and sweeping bends, we can expect battles to run from lap to lap as the aim of the game will be to try and break away from the pack as quickly as possible. However doing so shall be far from easy!
In the PREMIER class, Peter Duke’s continued consistency at Mugello has moved him into the lead for the first time this season by 14 points over both Jon Ludbrook and Ricardo Luiz Pereira. Duke will undoubtedly be keen to extend his lead tonight, but with several drivers further down the field also starting to hit their form including Mathew Croft, and Christopher Starsmore’s Ferrari looking increasingly competitive; this shall be far easier said than done!
In the EVO class, despite his stranglehold over race wins being broken last round, Wesley van Rans was still able to increase his lead to 83 points. Heading the chasing pack is Aadil Chaudhry who seems to have finally shaken off his bad luck from the opening two rounds. Add to this the rising form of Grant Miller who sits a further point behind after his back-to-back wins last week, and van Rens will be wary that his lead could be temporary!
