John Mellencamp and Little Big Town - "Our Country" - 2006 World Series

Prior to Game 2 of the 2006 World Series between the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals, John is joined by Little Big Town for a stripped-down acoustic version of his hit single "Our Country," which was in heavy rotation on television that fall via an infamous pickup truck commercial. The performance took place on October 21, 2006 at Comerica Park in Detroit.

John later explained that the reason he was delayed in joining Little Big Town and his bandmates on the field was because the TV network (FOX) was supposed to wait until they saw John before they announced him. They mistakenly thought John's long-time guitar player, Mike Wanchic, was John, so they announced him prematurely. It was certainly worth the brief delay for such a great performance.
