Will We Ever Learn? | Unreal Engine 5 Relighting Study

In this video, I explore how lighting alone can completely transform the emotional impact of a scene.

Using the “WW2 Paris” environment from @Meshingun , I created three distinct scenarios:

🌤️ Day
🌙 Night
❄️ Snow

No changes to assets.
No changes to layout.
Only lighting, atmosphere, and material response.

This study focuses on:

- Real-time lighting in Unreal Engine 5

- Lumen for dynamic global illumination and reflections

- Volumetric Fog & Sky Atmosphere for depth

- Exposure control and color grading for mood shifts

- Material adjustments to support seasonal variation

As environment artists, we’re not just placing assets... we’re shaping emotion through light.
