Materials:
I recommend the website: http://www.naturalpigments.com for ordering any pigments. They contain a ton of wonderful information about each pigment including origin, toxicity and color.
Pigment - In this video I used an Italian Yellow Earth Pigment which can be found here: http://www.naturalpigments.com/italian-yellow-earth-pigment.html
Glass Muller - I purchased mine off Etsy from the shop: intrinsicStillness
Glass Grinding Plate - I recommend having a tempered glass grinding plate that is at least 20x20'' and 1/4'' thick. I ordered mine from: http://www.fabglassandmirror.com, they have free shipping.
Ordering a glass plate from a glass manufacturer cuts down on price, however, you will need to texture the surface before use. I ordered silicon carbide from Natural Pigments and used that to texture my glass. To do this, pour the silicon carbide onto the glass, add some water and use your glass muller to grind the silicon carbide into the glass surface. When finished wipe down with water. Your glass should have a frosty look.
Palette knife, disposable palette, cold pressed linseed oil and empty aluminum paint tubes - These can all be purchased at your local art store. I recommend Artist & Craftsman.
Respirator, goggles, and gloves - Purchase these at your local hardware store. It is very important to know the toxicity of the pigment you are using. This is another reason why I suggest purchasing your pigment from Natural Pigments since they list all this information in detail. Be sure to use a respirator, goggles and gloves when mixing and bottling any paints.
