Quadcopter Scirocco Maiden Flight

This one was a close call. Testing GPS Rescue mode during the first flights. The wind was quite spicy, and the tide was coming in, all in all (in hindsight) it was a perilous place and time to test GPS rescue. When activated, GPS rescue mode applied massive upward impetus and the quad was carried by the wind. Then, almost as if it realized it had gone too high, it over-corrected in the downward direction. I noticed what was happening and just in the nick of time was able to take it out of rescue mode and punch the throttle—it can't have been more than a few inches above sea level! Phew, that was too close for comfort. Lesson learned. Wait until a calmer day and test GPS rescue in familiar surroundings. Scirocco, it turns out, is a feisty quad. It wants to go and go fast. There are adjustments to make, but I think I will have fun flying this one.
