DC Council Chairman considers who to replace Kenyan McDuffie

Chairman Phil Mendelson said Monday that some 29 people have expressed interest in the seat. It's up to the chairman to bring a nominee to the council to vote. The nominee will need at least seven votes to be appointed to the at-large seat. The council appointee will serve through a special election in June, and whoever wins that will serve the remainder of the term, which is up next January.
