Beginner to Advanced (in one song!). The ultimate blues guitar lesson.
Welcome to PART 1 of my 2 part Ultimate blues guitar lesson. Here’s a link to Part 2: https://youtu.be/S4ht_6i7zl4

Some key points to note when watching this video:
1) This whole video is applicable to playing a song in a major key. If your song or backing track is in a minor key, then things change. For example, some of the notes from the major scale would suddenly sound wrong. Maybe I’ll do a similar video for playing in a minor key 😊
2) If I’m talking about “blue” notes or the “minor” scale, I’m really just talking about your Blues pentatonic scale. The blues pentatonic is a MINOR scale, by definition, because it contains a flat 3rd instead of the major 3rd.
3) Don’t go thinking that your blues minor pentatonic can only be played if your song is in a minor key. No. The beauty of a major key is that the lead player can play from BOTH the major scale and the minor pentatonic.
