VFD Amp: An Amplifier Built From Old VCR Screens
In this video, I show you how to build a vacuum tube amplifier using a commonly found vacuum tube known as a vacuum fluorescent display, or VFD. In this video, I show how I built my amplifier, and the transition between version one and version 2 of my design. This model is only used as a proof of concept, showing that such an amplifier is possible with modern VFD's. It in nowise sounds like a normal amplifier, and has a small gain. As a disclaimer, this design is dangerous. Do not try to replicate at home unless you have an adequate knowledge and respect for electricity.
