Jenny Erpenbeck's "Kairos" wins 2024 International Booker Prize

인터내셔널 부커상에 독일 작품 '카이로스' 황석영은 고배

The novel "Kairos" written by German author Jenny Erpenbeck and translated by Michael Hofmann won the International Booker Prize on Wednesday.
Erpenbeck's fourth novel is the story of a destructive love affair between a 19-year-old student and a 50-year-old writer, set in East Berlin in the late 1980s.
Renowned Korean novelist Hwang Sok-yong who was shortlisted for the prize for his multi-generational epic "Master 2-10" vowed to work harder on his writing.
Though Hwang fell short of winning the Booker Prize, Korean literature appears to be in good shape with a third consecutive year of having a finalist in the International Booker Prize, and a fifth time overall.
