We Almost Gave Up Thrifting… Then We Hit the Jackpot

We hit the road from Bossier City and Shreveport with high hopes of thrifting for profit… but this turned into one of the toughest resale days we’ve had in a long time. Store after store was either closed, gone, or under remodeling as we made our way through Marshall and Tyler.

Just when we thought the day was a total loss, we found a few surprises including a great little antique shop and an unforgettable stop at Stanley’s Famous Pit Bar-B-Q. Sometimes in the reselling business, you have to pivot, regroup, and keep moving.

The next morning in Wichita Falls, everything changed. A quick stop at Goodwill turned into major thrift scores, and thanks to some incredibly kind locals, we found a field sale that turned into one of our best hauls yet. Antique furniture, vintage dishes, mirrors, and more — all bought for resale and profit.

This is real life in the world of reselling: not every day is a win, but persistence pays off.
