Laura Kinney, designated X-23, was created by the Facility, a secretive program aiming to replicate Wolverine’s Weapon X experiment. Using damaged DNA from Logan, geneticist Sarah Kinney (Laura’s surrogate mother) created a female clone after 22 failed attempts. Subjected to brutal experiments, including adamantium bonding and trigger scent conditioning, Laura became a lethal assassin. She escaped with Sarah’s help, who named her Laura before dying. Laura later joined the X-Men, formed a bond with Wolverine, and eventually took on his mantle.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a 2009 action-adventure game based on the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The game release coincided with the release of the film on May 1, 2009, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows, Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable.
