Outer Banks Motel

Watching the surf from my room at Cape Hatteras Motel, in Buxton, North Carolina, during an early spring visit. The motel has buildings on the ocean side and on the sound side; naturally, this is the ocean side. The ocean-side buildings have three levels, and this is the second level, which can see the ocean. The ground level rooms can't see the ocean, due to the sand dune. It was a well-run motel and I had a pleasant stay. This was at the tail-end of the off season, plus the economy had just crashed, so the rates were quite low at the time (the rates have since rebounded somewhat).
