We stopped by one of our favourite businesses in Japan: Sarto, to have a chat with their founder, Dan Seiya, and their Director, Moto Kwok-Fan, about their work. Sarto specializes in high end alterations and they can skillfully do alterations that a typical alterations tailor would decline. The beauty of tailored clothing is that it can be dismantled and reassembled without compromising the quality of the garment. It is a pleasure to have a garment stay with you for many years even as your body or tastes change. It is an even greater pleasure to know that your garment could be passed onto the next generation and enjoyed all over again.
