Portrait of Alizée - A beautiful singer from Corsica

I was on vacation a few weeks ago in Hawaii. On my second to last night there, I was just strolling down the avenue on a very pleasant evening, in Waikiki, enjoying the sights. There were all kinds of artists out; one man bands, break dancers, animal tricks and painters. I stopped to watch an artist doing a portrait of a woman and I was struck by what a great job he was doing. I had always wanted a portrait done of my favorite singer Alizée, but in my many travels, I never saw an artist whose work impressed me enough for me to request their services. Well that changed with this gentleman whose name is Michael Daly. I decided to film most of the task. There’s many stills I could’ve provided him, from so many years, but I always thought the look she had on this night in Paris when she was performing in front of the Eiffel tower was “the Look that launched a thousand ships”. What he did is called a speed drawing. Normally a portrait takes a few days to make. He did this in about 5 hours. You can imagine how well it would’ve turned out if he had taken his time.
