My Girlfriend Recaps Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back From Memory

The second installment in the "My Girlfriend Recaps Star Wars" series! It's the plot of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as recounted by my girlfriend who had only seen it one time, months before! I've animated her hilarious alternate version of this scifi/fantasy classic's plot.
My girlfriend, Jessie, had only seen the original Star Wars (A New Hope) when we started dating. As a lifelong fan, I was very excited to show her the rest of the series, but it had been years since she had watched the first film, and I wanted to make sure she remembered enough of it to be able to follow The Empire Strikes Back.
She began recounting the events of the first film's plot to me, and I was struck by how charming and endearing it was to listen to her describe a universe that I know like the back of my hand, but that is wholly unfamiliar to her. I began to imagine cardboard cutouts of the characters acting out her version of the story, a la Drunk History. The moment she said "I remember that Luke goes to a garage sale", I burst out laughing, and said "okay, stop right there, we're recording this."
I work with Adobe Premiere professionally, but was only familiar with the basics of After Effects when I started this project. My excitement and enthusiasm for bringing my delightful girlfriend's storytelling to life has driven me to expand my skill set. I now consider myself proficient with After Effects, and Photoshop, and have even enrolled in a Motion Graphics Certification course to pursue this newfound passion for animation.
