Chords I Like No.3
This is a seven-note chord made up of all seven letter names but with unusual chromatic alterations: A#,B,C,D,Eb,Fb,G – a mode that I have used in a number of early pieces including a piano concerto called Anatolia and a chamber opera called Anna's Rapid Eye Movement (in which it was contrasted with the static bell-like chord from the end of Stravinsky's Les Noces, which we may get onto later in this series):
