New Course: The Fourth Political Theory by Alexander Dugin

Alexander Dugin has been called The Most Dangerous Philosopher in the world. His books are banned from Amazon. He has been kicked off YouTube and other social media platforms. And he’s under sanctions by several governments, including the United States, where he is not welcome to visit.

But what are Dugin’s ideas and why are they considered so dangerous? What does he actually say about the state of contemporary politics? And why is his proposed alternative so controversial?

Hi, my name is Michael Millerman. I’ve been studying Dugin for over ten year years and have translated several of his books into English. In fact, I am one of the translators of the book we’ll be studying together. Some might even say I’m “the Dugin guy” in the West — now, that’s an overstatement, but it shows you how much time I’ve dedicated to trying to understand him as a serious thinker.

In this one-of-kind lecture series, we’ll be taking a close look at Dugin’s book called The Fourth Political Theory, Released in 2012, it was the first of his books to be published in English and it remains the best text for an introduction to his thought. The course is a detailed, chapter-by-chapter overview, a high-level exploration of the key concepts that form the heart of his theory. The lectures bring in additional materials from Dugin’s other writings, too, to help you become a world leading expert in the fourth political theory.

The goal of this course is to give you new tools for analyzing and assessing the state of contemporary politics. In the end, whether you agree or disagree with Dugin’s criticism of modern liberalism and his proposed alternative, you will come away from these lectures with a newfound understanding of liberalism and its post-liberal critics.

I personally regard this book as an indispensable companion to other, better known traditionalist criticisms of contemporary liberalism.
