This is a clip taken from the 1988 movie "Mississippi Burning" which tells the story of the killings of 3 young civil rights leaders in 1964. A must see film. Throughout the movie the young FBI agent in charge of the case (a 'northerner') keeps asking his older colleague who grew up in south, WHY? Why is there so much hatred. Where does it come from. The only attempt the movie makes to explain racism is in this story... a story about the role of shame in hate.
