(FRITS #34) Korean Air Economy Class Flight Experience: KE54 Honolulu to Seoul Incheon

Another Boeing 747-8 experience onboard Korean Air.

As I booked the cheapest subclass, I was unable to reserve the front economy class seats, so I checked in at the airport. The result, I got the front economy class seat at row 35. The process was hassle-free, combined with the breezy TSA check.
My flight departed from gate C7, and the plane arrived roughly 15-20 minutes late. The crews were changed there at Honolulu. Boarding call was made very clearly and once onboard, the crew welcomes you in a friendly smile. I switched again with my sister, from 35G to 35K. Take-off was slightly late, but I got a spectacular view of Hawaii just after we took off from the reef runway.
Once we took off, the crew served me lunch. Beef, chicken, or bibimbap. I opted for the bibimbap, again. The crew was very corteous and asked me if I had ever tried Bibimbap, in which I answered yes. This bibimbap, however, was slightly different, but still delicious. Then, just after we returned the tray, the lights were dimmed for passengers to rest. I tried to sleep, however I was woken up by the turbulence (one felt like a roller coaster ride I had in Ancol, Jakarta). The captain informed us that there will be some turbulence during the next 3 hours, which he anticipated. However we passed thru that very smoothly. Just after that, the crew served me a hot towel and a 'dinner'. This time I go with the beef with rice. It tasted great. We landed on time, but I decided not to take pictures with the crews as they were tired and I got a quick connection to make.

Overall, this is yet another excellent flight on Korean Air. The only minus point they have is the IFE, which lacked new selections.
