REM Construction Update #3 | South Shore Branch (May 2020)

Marching on with my coverage of the REM’s development, we move to the branch of the system that has the longest history of proposals, and also happens to be pretty close to where I live. The first discussions of a rapid rail link between downtown Montreal and the South Shore, more specifically the Brossard area, go back to the late 1990s, and while it never made it past the drawing board as a stand-alone LRT, it was finally picked up by CDPQ Infra’s project, and will soon form the base of the REM network as a whole.

It’s May 2020, and things are very much taking shape through Brossard and along Autoroute 10. Let’s go take a look!
